About

The Story

From Northvale to the Ivy League. Strength, technique, and a relentless standard.

Her Journey

Built in the circle.

Layla Giordano grew up in Northvale, New Jersey, where she became one of the state's top throwers at Northern Valley alongside her fraternal twin, Maya (now throwing for Delaware) — earning two trips to the New Jersey Meet of Champions before bringing her game to Princeton.

Throwing for the Tigers, Layla broke through in 2026 by setting the Ivy League discus record at 59.94m (196-8") — a mark that ranked #1 in NCAA Division I and earned her Ivy League Athlete of the Week. She competes in the discus and shot put, and continues to chase program and conference history in the Ivy League.
